This historical talk covering the movement of Catholics from South Ulster to Galway, Mayo and Leitrim, will be given by Claire McPhillips, a local student who has recently graduated from Heritage Studies,  ATU, Galway.  Sectarian tension after the Battle of the Diamond followed by the setting up of the Orange Order together with economic pressures in the province led to this westward movement.
